Charly Edgewood’s husband lost his mind. He doesn’t want a divorce; he wants a vacation–in Australia, and he intends to be gone for a whole year. Unable to change his mind, Charly, with their seventeen-year-old disabled son, Jake, moves back to Weary, Kansas (pop.400) where her seven siblings will all be in one place for the first time in her adult life.
Settling in among her family, Charly feels like she’s home again. But her brother is being stalked, she finds herself in the middle of a town-wide feud, and somebody vandalized the local cemetery. When the bones from the cemetery end up in her fruit cellar can Charly figure out who stole them?
C.L. Roth is uniquely qualified to write a mystery with a caregiver protagonist. She has written what she lives. Sibling #5 out of 8 C.L. has constructed a mystery that mirrors the kind of life she grew up in. Not the mystery part but the big happy family in a small-town setting as well as taking care of a disabled child. BONE WEARY is full of humor and unexpected twists and is sure to be a fun read for any age.
I love the Bone Weary story. It is entertaining and funny. There are
moments in this story that will take you back to your childhood. You
will enjoy reading this story. S L Regier
Thank you, Sharon. I appreciate you taking time to leave a comment.
I was intrigued to learn about your collaboration with your son on his paintings and how caring for him has inspired you to write this mystery with a caretaker as a protagonist. I’ll be ordering the book and look forward to reading it. My husband and I also collaborate on writing, editing and publishing books. Our latest book, “Jake, Little Jimmy & Big Louie” is a children’s chapter book about a boy who adopts a budgie without wings and later an almost dead baby bird who, with the care of the boy, turns out to be a huge, smart raven. Somehow, it seems as if our books are quite alike. Check it out if you are interested at https://www.createspace.com/5114278.
